North Idaho Avalanche Conditions: Considerable and rising

http://www.wallowaavalanchecenter.org/node/954

Very sad to say that we lost 2 bc skiers in the Wallowas this past week. I had a trip planned there for this weekend that we cancelled due to bad conditions getting worse. Not sure how many of you have been following this, but between the Wallowas, reports from the Cascades, all over the west, conditions are very reactive right now. If I remember right I even read about a fracture propogating on a 25 degree slope on the north side of the Wallowas.

Be careful and choose your slopes very very wisely.

Thanks Nick.. Sad indeed.
I'm in Vancouver, Wa and saw that on the news here. I suspected that this weekend would be a risky time to tour.
Noting that we got a lot of fluff last week, then heavy density snow, rain and again heavy density snow for the next few days.. Add winds to that.. We all need our snow senses out there or just hit resorts until this settles out.
Should be interesting to see if we hear about any sledders in N Idaho getting caught this weekend.. I hope not.
