Press release on seeking grant funding:

The US Forest Service, Sandpoint Ranger District, Idaho Panhandle Avalanche Center (IPAC) is seeking grant funding from Idaho Parks and Recreation through the Off Road Motor Vehicle Fund. If funded, the grant will allow the avalanche center to expand education and safety programs, and will double the number of advisories issued each week from one to two. IPAC promotes safety among winter backcountry users by providing weekly advisories on current avalanche hazards to the public via website, phone hotline, Facebook, and email sources. Additionally, IPAC provides free avalanche awareness courses to local snowmobile clubs, high schools and universities, public agencies, search and rescue organizations, and outdoor and ski clubs. Idaho Parks and Recreation funding will be matched with federal recreation dollars and 501c3 funding from the avalanche center support group. For more information on this grant proposal, or questions about the Idaho Panhandle NF’s avalanche center, please contact Kevin Davis at the Sandpoint Ranger District at (208) 265-6686.

That's great news! Is there anything we can do to show support for the grant? Sending letters / emails to the Parks and Rec grant committee or something?
