BC 101 - classroom session (Feburary 13, 2019) field session (February 16, 2019)

If any of you are interested in getting better oriented to backcountry skiing or splitboarding the Spokane Mountaineers put on a BC 101 course that is open to all and is a great those who are new to ski touring and splitboarding.

Wednesday February 13th, 2019 6-7:30pm at REI Classroom
Saturday February 16th, 2019 9am-3pm at Mt. Spokane

WHAT:
Backcountry 101 - Transitioning from good ole fashion ‘lift-riding’ to sidecountry or backcountry travel is becoming easier and easier, but are your ready to take the plunge? Backcountry 101 is geared toward those who just are starting on their journey from lift access to the backcountry, or those who have some experience and want to check their proficiency.

The goals of the class are to answer ‘101’ level questions and to begin or continue the conversation of safe and fun winter travel. This includes sections on what is in your bag?, gear, terrain choices, picking partners, and human factors.

COST:
$20- For Spokane Mountaineers
$25 - For NON-MEMBERS
