Lookout Pass food drive and pow day

Just a heads up Lookout pass is doing their annual food drive for the Missoula food bank. Bring 4 cans of non perishable food and get a free lift ticket this thursday (13th). O ya and they'll prob have about 12-18" since they're closed mon-wed. Get it!

I don't know for sure but I heard a couple times that they had got some cut, and it's going to be a zoo up there tomorrow deep snow and cheap riding.
Ok my Lookout buddy isn't sure about the new runs and remembering the one time I skied Lookout with 3' I'm going to pass on the day just not enough pitch for that much snow, enjoy IlI' be at Silver on Friday. Unless I get a bad case of powder need one never knows even when I should know better. LOL

Ya theres only a few places on that mountain that are steep enough for that much snow! Hopefully some of that will be solved with the terrain expansion.

I skinned up 49 today and it was really surprising how wind swept everything was. Their count of 15' in the last 48 hours might have been a little on the high side, yet the coverage wasn't bad for this season. It was interesting too, because the wind was so strong overnight the trees has NO snow on them.Image 12-12-18 at 8.27 PM (2).jpgImage 12-12-18 at 8.27 PM (1).jpg

32" :D typical lookout storm. Itll probably be 32" of mashed potatoes by noon tomorrow haha get it while its good!
Haha. Not far from the truth. It was a zoo up there, with all of the runs completely blown out in the first hour, with tons more people arriving after that.

Top picture was at 8:45, before first chair. Bottom picture was at 10:15, after I already called it a day; you can see the second line in the background, wrapping around to the other side of the lift. There were still people walking up with donations to get their lift ticket. Without Chair 3 running, it sure got crowded real fast.

I try to be in line by 8:30 when I go and after last year at Toyota Day, I was happy to stay home and not get run over. Would have been worth a Ch 3 ski and hike though, but they said it would be open.

Busiest I've ever seen it up there! Still a great time, lines were hit and miss on the backside, only had to wait in a long one twice. Cant beat free lift rides though! Always freshies in the trees up there if you know where to go ;)
