It's time for you to speak up! The comment period has been extended through Monday May 10th for the Lookout Pass Ski Area Expansion. You will loose opportunities for a quiet winter backcountry experience in the Lookout Pass and Stevens Peak backcountry if the ski area expands. The DEIS addresses only the expansion proposed for the north side of St. Regis Basin. But the ski area has future plans to expand in a big way into St. Regis basin and the St. Regis/Copper Lake Divide. Any expansion will have significant impacts on your opportunities for accessible winter backcountry use in the area and Stevens Peak vicinity.
