Be Avalanche Aware

Be prepared and have the knowledge before you travel in the backcountry.

  1. Does you group have the skills, knowledge and training to travel in avalanche terrain?

  2. Are you carrying beacons, shovels and probes?

  3. Can you self-rescue? Do you have a plan?

  4. Do you know the emergency number?

  5. Have you checked the current avalanche advisory and weather forecast?

  6. Have you checked out with someone?

  7. Do you have any other route options?
