On Thursday, recreation staff hiked portions on the Kettle Crest north and Columbia Loop to determine access. They described it as "miserable." Wet snow and ice at least knee deep covers much of the area. There are also a number of downed trees that make the trail difficult to walk.

Staff hiking the Snow Peak Cabin trail also reported similar snow conditions, but not as many downed trees. Snow drifts up to 30 inches in places were reported.

Translation: Might be good enough to ski?
