North Idaho Avalanche Course List 2022

Updated 11/10/20-- more classes will be added as announced. See full list on the 'Know Before You Go' section.

There's quite a few options to choose from this year for avalanche education in our area!

The AIARE/AAA Level 1 course is a 3 day/24 hour introduction to avalanche hazard management. Students can expect to develop a good grounding in how to prepare for and carry out a trip, to understand basic decision making while in the field, and to learn rescue techniques required to find and dig up a buried person (if an avalanche occurs and someone in the party is caught).

Check it out here.

Does anyone know of any Level 2 Avi courses being offered this year (hopefully before the end of the season) or more advanced classes? I checked with Missoula Avalanche and it seems like they do not have any on the books yet...
