Split anybody tried the viole sts touring toes(ranger copy)?

Just ordered a set for a 170v-tail I got cheap, now I'll get the steeper front binding angle I want,

I haven't tried those, but they are VERY similar to Ranger Splitboard binders (New Zealand) toe piece, which I do have. They work, a bit of a pain as it isn't a true step in, you have to flip up the piece.

I knew that but the simplicity (no iced packed springs) and shorter footprint are important to me.
Just got them in the mail, stainless steel is surely heavier than rangers, and the price seems steep for what is actually there.
